Monde has a small team of passionate individuals who bring together their collective experience to work as one cohesive team. The team has had extensive work experience in North America, Europe and the Middle East. Their academic and professional backgrounds are comprised of finance, legal, commercial, operational and business administration. The team share a common mission to work with trust and transparency with our partners across the board.

Charles Prew


Charles Prew is a successful businessman with an impressive track record of building and turning around several businesses. He has enjoyed a distinguished career in the hospitality and leisure sectors operating at director level for over 30 years, 14 at senior international board level.

Charles worked in the United States and France before joining Grand Metropolitan Hotels where he spent 15 years in senior management roles. Thereafter, he worked with Ladbroke Hotels and Hilton International for 10 years where he was Deputy Managing Director of Hilton UK, Vice President Sales & Marketing for Asia Pacific and Australia, and Chairman of Hilton Hotels Australia & New Zealand. He served as a Director on the Board of Jarvis Hotels Plc and as CEO of Paramount Hotels Ltd, which later became Barceló Hotels UK. He acted on behalf of the Administrators, Ernst & Young, as CEO of von Essen Hotels Ltd overseeing the successful sale of the business. Over the last 3 years he has been responsible for the asset management of 6 InterContinental hotels in Europe, which included the Carlton Hotel in Cannes.

Charles is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality, an Honorary Professor of The University of West London and a Trustee of People 1st, Sector Skills Council for Hospitality, Tourism, Leisure, Travel, Passenger Transport and Retail. Charles serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board for Monde Capital.

Ian Cain

Member of the Advisory Board

Ian qualified as a tax lawyer in 1994 and went on to head Eversheds’ UK domestic tax team following 8 years with that firm. Ian was appointed head of family business and tax partner at Boodle Hatfield and later became head of Goldman Sachs’ European strategic advisory service before founding his own consultancy firm, iStrategic, in 2009. Ian currently advises wealthy serial entrepreneurs on structuring, finance and family office matters. He is also heavily involved in property related investments (including property development and peer to peer lending) and with UK renewable energy projects.

As "trusted adviser" Ian has numberous investment committee, advisory board and trustee roles in support of clients, focused on both non-executive and operational aspects of investment, governance or business strategies.

Hasan Hashwani

President - Director

Hasan started his first Food & Beverage venture at the age of 20 while living in Houston, Texas. He owned and managed two restaurants for several years before joining his family's Oil & Gas business. Over the years Hasan served as President of the businesses while based in Switzerland and currently resides in the United Kingdom. He also led the development of a mixed use real estate project in North Africa and continues to monitor the businesses as a Non Executive Director.

Hasan attended undergraduate school in Houston, Texas and has an Executive Masters in Business Administration from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Raphaël Rey


Raphaël Rey was born in 1973. He earned his law degree at the University of Geneva in 1997 and was admitted to the Geneva Bar in 2001.

He advises his private and corporate clients in the following areas : Inheritance, contracts, real estate, corporate law, banking law, labour law, family law and litigations.

He joined the Firm Banna & Quindodoz as a partner on the 1st of January 2013.

James Martingale


James started his career in financial services in 1989 and has subsequently held senior positions with Coutts & Co, Collins Stewart and Equity Trust/TMF Group.

Throughout his career, James has advised wealthy international families, Trustees and family offices with his most recent role as Director and Global Head of Investor Services at the world’s largest independent trust and corporate services provider, TMF Group.

His experience covers most asset classes and private and institutional wealth disciplines including portfolio management, commercial and residential real estate, trust services and credit. He has a global network of clients and service providers developed through his 25 year career and has worked in London, Jersey and the Middle East. He has also led teams based in Hong Kong and Switzerland providing good connectivity, and cultural understanding, across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

James left TMF Group in May 2012 to build a totally independent business focused on debt, real estate development and the hotels sector.
